I can't boot my machine I've tried to start also in safe mode and safe mode

that my C:\WINDOWS folder is empty. Can I use my xp install disk and opt.
repair, will it fix this problem. And if so will I lose my settings, Third
party software, pictures, docs, etc.

Thankyou for the info, what about my file associations with my programs like
adobe, MS office, and all my other third party software will they still work

They should. However, you should be aware that Stuff Can Happen and if
you don't have important data backed up it would be better to do this
first. You can do it yourself if you can't get into Windows by using
something like Knoppix or a Bart's PE. The ability to do that depends
on your computer skills. If you are unsure, take the machine to a
professional computer repair shop (not your local version of
BigStoreUSA).
