XP Pro Start button left click disabled/not working

Hi,

I just checked out a computer and the Start button "left click" would
not work. The user could left-click on anything else (other programs,
icons, etc.) successfully, but the left click on the start button did
not work. I noticed that the Start button looked like it was pressed
in (seemed slightly darker and lowered - like it was stuck in the
pressed down position). Right-click on the Start button worked.
Strange. Anyway, if anyone has seen this behaviour before please post
your experiences. I rebooted the machine by holding in the Start
button.

Did you try a system restore? Does it happen in other accounts? What about
safe mode?
