XP Pro SP2 OEM Bootable CD

Hi Folks,

Does any-one in the UK have a copy of XP Pro + SP2 OEM (bootable) on CD that
they could burn a copy for me please? Happy to pay your expenses via paypal.

I have a valid OEM licence, but original software came on a partition on my
NEC laptop which has now crashed.

Already phoned Microsoft and NEC but neither can / will supply the disk.

Just a heads-up, OEM CDs are sometimes specific to the vendor that supplied
them. I.e. A Windows CD from a Dell won't work in an NEC. Not only that, the
install key for your Windows license probably only works with the version of
Windows you had.

MS probably can't help much being as the OEMs are responsible for the
support. If you can't find someone else with the same laptop as you to make
a copy of their CD, I would continue to push NEC. That or *maybe* the shop
where you bought the laptop might be able to help you out.

Thanks for the tip. Data is safely backup up, just need an OS.

NEC could have helped, but as laptop is out of warranty they don't want to
know. Pretty sure that OEM CD keys work on an algorithm rather than a table
so any one should work (but I could be wrong). I have the hardware drivers
on a separate disk so that won't be a prob.
