Once I finished putting my system together, I stuck my XP Pro CD and
proceeded with the installation. But right away a menu came up asking
me what type of computer I have:
ACPI multiprocessor PC
ACPI uniprocessor PC
ACPI PC
Compaq something (which it isn't)
SMP multiprocessor PC (I think it said SMP)
SMP uniprocessor PC
Standard PC
Other

I called a couple of friends of mine and they've never seen such a
menu during an installation process.

I also have Seagate SATAII drives, along with just some Kingston
667NHz PC2-5300 CL5 sticks. What should I choose in this case?
Thanks.

No, it didn't. The article never mentioned anything about what type
of PC being asked during a clean installation of XP Pro. The article
dealt with just doing a clean install of XP, which I knew already how
to do. Thanks anyway.

This has to do with your mother board and the BIOS. This menu
sometimes comes up with antiquated mother boards. Your BIOS
chip may be DOA.
