XP Pro SP2 as a VPN Server

I have set up my home PC as a VPN server (it is XP pro with SP2). This
machine is behind a linksys firewall in which I forward port 1723 and have
enabled PPTP Passthrough. If I connect to the server from another machine
(say my work PC), I never get a connection...I get the "Error 721: The remote
computer did not respond..." I know that the port forwarding is working b/c
I can telnet into port 1723 AND I have a port monitoring program that shows
that the connection is established. But I CANNOT get a connection to the VPN
server. As a test, I attempted to connect to the VPN server from a VPN
connection on a machine INSIDE my home network....I get the same error if I
set up the Server address as 69.14.xxx.xxx, BUT, if I use the LAN IP address
(192.168.1.4), then I CAN connect to VPN. Can someone PLEASE help me set up
the VPN Server so that I can access it from a machine outside its LAN
(connect to Home PC as VPN Server from work PC)? Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

I have a BEFW11S4 router, not the one in question...and it is firmware
1.50.14. Any posts on the firmware for this router?
