I had to upgrade a brand new laptop (brand new as in I took
it out the box) from XP Home to XP Pro, I then installed XP
SP2, then checked and installed for latest updates. I then
loaded Office 2000 Std and all its updates.

The user uses Outlook as his main e-mail client, its is not
connected to an exchange server, he can receive and send
e-mail ok. The problem is that everytime he goes to delete
an e-mail outlook crashes. When he opens Outlook up again,
all those e-mailed he had just read are now showing as
unread again.

Any suggestions??

Just an update for anyone that is interested, most of the
errors were related to outllib.dll, I have tried many of the
suggestions on the MS site and others to no avail. In the
end I replaced the version of outllib.dll on the laptop with
one from our main server. The version were different but no
illeffect have been noticed yet and its not crashing.

from your first post, I'd have reloaded Outlook... that would have replaced
your DLL - it appears to have been corrupted...

Might you have loaded anything AFTER Outlook? There may have been a program
that integrates that might have provided its own (changed) copy of the DLL...
