XP Pro Repair/Install

After about three years the operating system became
slower and slower. Then the MS SBM screen shots failed
to appear, so need to rebuild.

Tried to re-install, however at about 13 minute to
finish, a needed file couldn't be found, Getlums from
MSDART.dll..... I repeated the process several times

Need to resore to an operating condition

Any Ideas?
