I am running XP Pro on an older Athelon 1700 machine. I have an 80 gig HD
with 512 megs of ram. Recnetly for no reason my machine has just rebooted
its self. It would boot back up and everything would be fine. Sometimes it
would shut down completely but I could restart it and it would run for
awhile.
Today it seems to be getting worse. Now i can power up my machine and it
will boot up. I can check my email, via Outlook, but I can't connect using a
browser. When i open IE it will lock up or reboot. Sometimes it will
partlially reboot to the point of my status bar will show up, but no icons.
One time today after it rebooted itself, I got an error code 1073741795.
There was a path of C;/windows/system32/services.exe and it said something
about NT Authority System. Thats all i could write down before it shut down
..
Any help is appreciated

Actually I only have 2.13 GB useable on my C drive and 2.49 gigs of my
scondary drive left. The last time I cleaned my system and defragged was
quite some time ago. I will do a clean up and defrag and see what happens.
Thanks for the help...

Do you have drive space? How much free space do you have? Have you
done a cleanup? Have you defragged?

2 gigs is not small. Tight, but not that small. I don't think its
your issue. But cleanup might not be a 'bad' idea. I'm not hot on
defrag., especially on a system with low space. Just me!

Without 15% free space, it would take a really good defragger to run
anyway.

Diskeeper will do it. No freebie that I know of will do it. Don't
even know if the built-in defragger will.

This morning it want even boot to safe mode. Would the power supply cause
this? Maybe if it wasn't running at full power?
You could have a flaky PS, memory, HD, motherboard, a ton of items could
do it. Its easier to fix if it burns. Intermittent issues are a bitch
to fix. Even could be dust in the cabinet. Dust has been known to
short circuit items and cause issues.
