I have an NT4 server set up as a domain server, and
currently all workstations are just on a workgroup,
sharing peer-to-peer. The server shared drives are
available, but there is no user authentication in place.
All but 2 workstations are W98SE. I have figured out how
to handle them. With putinenv.exe and winset.exe I can
make each workstation log into the appropriate users
directory on the server, map drives, etc.
The problem is with the multi-user XP machines.
HOW do I set them up to allow multiple users on one
profile - I can't have shared files etc for each and
every user on every machine. Regardless who logs onto the
workstatio, I want them to see and access exactly the
same desktop, files, folders, and applications. The login
script will look after what they can see on the server,
and any required peer to peer shares can be set up to
allow access by user name , or simply by password.
Can anyone give me some guidance how to manage this??
If you can reply by email as well as on the forum it will
be appreciated.
Thanks.
