My Install CD shattered . It's now come to the point where I want to format
my drive and reinstall (need to repartition the drive).

Is it possible to obtain a replacement cd or do I need to buy it again?

your original post nor your latest reply shows your country,
it's rather hard giving you specific advice. I would ring the
local Microsoft office.

Additional, if it's OEM then MS won't be able to help. You would need to
contact the supplier from which you got it to see if they can help (low odds
of that). Next time you can make a copy of the CD to guard against such a
problem.

In this case you could also borrow a CD from someone who has the same type.
CD's are not unique. Any CD will work with a product key of the same kind.
They have to match as to:

Home v. Pro
Retail Full v. Upgrade v. Generic OEM v. Branded OEM v. Volume License
Language version

If you find someone who has the same type of CD make a copy of it.
