xp pro install - 2 files did not copy

Setup was unable to copy SPTIP.DL_ and ir41_32.ax during installation. I
retried then continued. All seems okay so after a little research at this
discussion group, I cleaned the cd disk and was able to exand SPTIP.DL_ and
rename it to SPTIP.DLL in c:\Windows\system32

I do not have a clue where to put ir41_32.ax_ or what to rename it. Will
someone tell me where I can find this information? P.S. - just on the
curious side -- what program uses this file?

Why not just reinstall xp....

ir41_32.ax is Indeo v.4.51.16.2 Interactive codec, a DirectX audio
component. If audio is working OK on your system, you can ignore this. This
file normally resides in C:\windows\system32 and you can try restoring it
from the CD.

Alternatively, you can download and install the latest version of DirectX:

Thank you for the guidance. I will ignore the file for now and just install
directX some time later.

Since the system seemed to be working, I have been installing other programs
and elected to only recover the individual files as a learning experience.
The next post by Abilash Tibrewal explained what the file was but I guess I
still have some learning to find out how I can figure that out for myself.
