XP Pro hangs at startup

I recently repaired my Windows XP Pro installation, and can no longer start
the computer. I get all the way to the desktop, and it pops up the
notification window that I have changed boot options with msconfig and then
immediately freezes. I can boot into Safe Mode, and have disabled all
non-vital boot processes in msconfig.

Any suggestions?
