XP Pro after SP2 install missing!

I could be wrong, but I believe that my start screen
displayed Microsoft Windows XP Professional before I
installed SP2. Now it shows ONLY Windows XP and nor
Professional. Am I correct? If so, how can I fix it...do
I need to fix it? Dell suggests that I uninstall SP2.

This is not a bug, the change was deliberate.

With 4 versions of XP now (Home, Pro, Media Edition, Tablet PC) I
guess they just got tired of having to handle the different startup
screens each time they needed to compile/link a new build of the
OS/Service pack. It takes one more thing out of the test matrix for
all the various builds, since it is now consistent across all
derivatives of Windows XP.

Keeping it simple is a way to save time and money.

SP2 takes away the branding of Home or Professional.

You should have bought Gold Technical Support. *grin*

Don't you think that it would have been a good idea for MS to tell their
customers that this would happen??
