Hi
I am running windows xp on my thinkpad x23, 866 mhz p3. It currently
has 128mb of ram. I upgraded from win2000, which ran fine. I mainly
use it for ms office, which is also slower. My question is: will
adding 512 mb of ram ( maxing it out) help with speed? or should I go
back to windows 2k?

Thanks

Yes it will and even if you go back to W2K you will see a speed improvement

Yes, almost certainly if you use it for anything more than playing
solitaire.

How much RAM you need for good performance with Windows XP depends on
what apps you run, but almost everyone needs at least 256MB.
