XP on a new hard drive

i have purchased a new hard drive (samsung SP2514N 250GB) but i unable to
install xp onto this hard drive, I have had no problems installing on a
second hand drive but thats only 2GB. The new hard drive is formatted to NTFS
under drive letter D: in computer management it show as healthy (Page File).
It also only show the size as 128GB not 250GB. Please Help.

Your BIOS sees the drive and you boot up off the XP CD, have it delete all
partitions on the hard drive (it's new after all) and create new ones and
format them and continue the install and..?

Well - explain a little better how you are trying to install.

It sounds like he's up against the 48-low-order-bits problem.
Does he have an up-to-date BIOS and at least SP1 installed?
