XP no longer retains any passwords for Websites

Something happened and XP Pro will no longer retain the
user name and password for any websites I visit. Also I
can no longer create any restore points and all pervious
restore points vanished.

Please help

Sounds like 2 different things.

AutoComplete (Tools...Internet Options...Content....AutoComplete) is
probably turned off.

System Restore is probably off, turn it back on.
