xp no longer recognizes digital cameras

I have a satellite pro 6100, p4 1.7 running xp pro.

I had a problem and had to format and reinstall windows
using my manufacturers restore cd which installs a clean
copy of xp.
Everything works ok except that windows no longer
recognizes any digital camera i plug in via usb. I have a
kodak dx3600, which prior to the reinstall, when plugged
into a usb port, windows immediately recognized it as a
plug and play digital camera, and would launch the camera
wizzard, in addition to installing an icon for the camera
in "my computer"

Now, when i plug the camera in , the "new hardware"
wizzard shows up, tries to find a driver, cant, and will
not recognize the camera. There are no drivers for this
camera, it is plug and play, but windows will no longer
see it as such. Please provide some solutions. Thanks

You most likely had software installed for that camera previously. You
might want to check the Kodak web site for drivers and software.
