thought this might be of help to some.
My issues: http://tinyurl.com/o32l6
What solved it for me (very obscure):
I used to have Norton Anti-Virus/Network Security. Uninstalled it. Switched
to PC-Cillen about a year ago.

I removed (regedit) IRPStackSize. It was set to b
Now my laptop can see and access my desktop shares. Now my desktop can view
& access it's own shares via
MyNetwork Places | View Workgroup Computers | mydesktop_name |
Obscure solution. Damn Norton!
We got onto this solution when I was trying to map a network drive to my
laptop and got a 'not enough space issue' error messag'. That turned up some
discussions about norton setting IRPStackSize and XP not being able to
manage this IRPStackSize space if this value already existed in the registry.
Thanks Chuck for all your help & timely responses. I learned a lot using
your tools. But I hope to never have to use your help again! LOL.
Life is good again!
Hope this helps someone else. Sounds like a safe thing to remove if using XP.
Regards
Mike
