XP Network just stopped working

Glenn

I'm not sure what happened but my XP network just stopped
working over the weekend.

Here's the scoop any advise appreciated.

I have a home pc (Dell 8200) running XP connected to the
Internet via a cable Modem which is routed directly via an
ethernet cable to a Linksys wireless router.

My work laptop also runs XP and connects to the Internet
via the Linksys Routter through wireless access in my IBM
T30 notebook. This computer is part of a work domain which
I access via a VPN.

I have had this setup for about 6 months and have had no
problems. The network worked only one way which was fine
with me. I had the ability to access my home computer from
my laptop for file sharing and also print sharing. At one
point I tried to get it going both ways but ended up wiping
out my domain settings (not good).

Yesterday I tried to access the home computer via my laptop
and I was given an error message "Network path not found"
and it indicated I might not have permission to use this
network resource.

I re ran the Network wizard on the Home PC (with all the
same settings), but can not use a setup disk on my laptop
because it is part of a domain.

Why would this suddenly stop working?

The first question I always ask is if you can ping. if not, compare ipconfig
/all or post it here.
