XP machine broadcasting and clogging up the network

I have a XP Pro machine that has started broadcasting to a ton of different
ports. My first thought as attack, but spyware was not found nor any
viruses. Any ideas?

Chris (IS at the domain of screenplay.com)
 
Mostly a broadcast storm means a hardware malfunction. Booting into DOS with
TCP/IP can check it.
