XP Logon

I have a stand alone PC runnig Windows XP. All family
members log on and have administrator rights. One family
member sometinmes gets a message
"Windows was unable to load the registry. This is often
caused by insufficient memory or insufficient security
rights". This sems to suggest that the local user profile
is unavaialable, and loads the default profile. As this
is not part of a network it seems strange. Is it possible
that a registry entry has become corrup.

i have deleted and recreated the profile - on numerous
occassions including deleting all the files and folders
in Documents and settings relating to the user profile

Any help advice would be grateful
