Hi Al

After installing XP pro on a workstation, I seem to get a registry error every time I log onto our work domain, if I log into the workstation localy there is no error

Error is

"One of the files containing the systems registry data had to be recovered by use of a log or alternative copy. The recovery was successful

I only get this error on loging into the domain
I have done fresh installs on a few workstations and get the error on all of them so im pretty confident its not a simple bad hard drive or memory stick
I have installed NT and upgraded to XP as well and only get the error on the XP log in

Does any one have any ideas please

If this is happening to only the XP machines that are
logging onto the network, it seems that the
authentication server(s) are not grabbing a specific
registry file that's needed for the XPs to logon
initially. >Some registry file is not where the
server 'thinks' it should be.< I would start with the
server settings and check your server and XP workstation
logs.
Whatever the 'glitch' is, it doesn't seem to be a
major one since they are able to log on after it searches
for the file. Hopefully just a small tweak will do the
trick. Hope this helps.
