XP Lock out

It seems my system has locked me out. I can't open, My
Computer, Search, Recyle, etc. When I click on any of
these it resets to the desktop again. Also, on bootup, I
get a message: C:\windows\bxxs5.dll not found. Could this
be the problem. Another message also shows: fash.exe
failed to start because MFC70.DLL was not found. Help!
What can I do to get back into my system and use it. The
software runs ok.

Check for viruses:

Symantec Security Check

And check for the presence of spyware:
