XP LAN issue.

Since the latest MS update I have encountered the following problem:

My computer goes into standby while using broadband.
When I wake it up and check the Network settings, it appears to have sent 4
GB of data without receiving any. I have enabled the task manager logs and
there is no data being sent. However everytime the system goes into standby
the indication is that it has sent the data. Has anyone else experienced
this issue, and does anyone know how to fix it?

You have probably been "invaded".
Backup data, zero your hard drive and re-install.
Otherwise, you'll have to do a lot of detective work to find out the real
cause.
