XP & internet problem

XP home had 3 viruses (Blast, Welchia, & Gaobot) it also
had adware.binet & adware.hotbar on it. I have removed
all the viruses and still the computer has a problem
connecting to the internet. It has 3 numbers to chose from
and most of the time they don't connect or it takes a real
long time. I have refreshed the RPC, installed Norton's
Internet Security, ran adaware and checked for the bugs
again. Do you have any other suggestions on what I need
to reset in XP or clean out?

Should have but it didn't! Stinger didn't even find the
Gaobot virus when I ran it on-line. Do you know why it
isn't connecting quickly to the internet?
