Hi,
Fresh install of XP Pro on a Dell Optiplex G150
Internet Explorer 6.0
Updates done.
Updated bios to latest version
Machine either reboots - or - Internet Explorer just
shuts down to the desktop when I click on certain links
or buttons.
For example, if I try to log in to yahoo with my username
and password, the second I click the "Login" button it
sometimes closes IE back to the desktop and sometimes
reboots the machine. This is just one example. It also
does this on some hyperlinks on web pages. Does not do
this when working in other programs like Word or Exel.
It did this when I had WIN98 on the machine, and after
tearing my hair out trying to find the solution, I
decided to upgrade to XP to see if that cured it. NOT.
So I deleted the partitions, formatted and re-installed
XP from scratch. Still does it.
Called Dell, ran the hardware diagnostics and no problems
with hardware were found.
There are no error messages displyed, and no entries in
the log files.
Any ideas anyone?
