XP Internet Dial-up

I know an XP user having a problem with accessing the
internet. He is prompted by XP to actually dial a phone
number on a telephone to obtain access. He is not able to
gain access by using the computer. He has contacted his
ISP and has walked through dial-up setup with them but is
still prompted for dial-up with a telephone.

Any suggestions on what causes this and any possible
corrections?????

Have him download Ad Aware, www.lavasoftusa.com. He may have downloaded a
dialer program that might be trying to take the place of his ISP. If such
is installed, Ad Aware may find it. Also have him make sure he has the
latest updates for his antivirus software and have him run a scan to make
sure he has no viruses or Trojans that might be the source of the issue.
