In windoews XP (Home), I am trying to have one directory
which holds files of about 50 different directories. To
open each directory highlighting, cutting and pasting into
the new directory is really painful. What is the smart way
out ....Unix commnad line is so versatile

Thanks,

You'd be finished by now if you just did it. Look at the for /r command.

Open windows on source and on destination. Use Edit - select all, then
drag with the *right* mouse button down, on release take *move* here
