XP Hosed?

Task Manager, Services, regedit, regedt32, advanced user settings, who knows
what else doesn't work.

I've virus protected/scanned, etc....Finally, I downloaded FULL XP with SP2
(not just SP2) and reinstalled (upgrade) from the CD image.

STILL not working!!!!! What the hell have they (hackers) done to my
machine??????

Where did you 'download' XP from? Try an online virus scan for a 2nd
opinion:

Don't expect that the installation of SP2 will fix a screwed up computer. It
won't!

You have to clean up your system first. Then you will obtain a successful
install of SP2.

Use Ad-Aware from http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

Use SpyBot Search and Destroy from
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/

Run a complete virus scan using a current version of an antivirus program
(2003-2004 vintage) having the latest signature updates applied.
