I have a XP Home machine that when I shut down it sometimes says other users
are logged on the computer but I have made sure to disable any sharing and
am using the internet through windows firewall as well as a linksys router
with a firewall. Is there any way to tell where this is coming from? I am
assuming it is an error but have no way to be sure. All updates are in place
and I do not have file sharing software of any type installed. Thanks

With WinXP it is possible to have more than one user (account) logged
on at the same time. If another user is also logged on when you
shutdown, this warning will be issued.

Since the computer only has one user account and that is me I am at a loss.
I have even checked in Control Panel to be sure no other users have been
added! There are also no other computers here. Really Strange since it only
started like 4 or 5 days ago. Any ideas appreciated!

Any music/video sharing software installed on your computer?

What antivirus & antispyware software are you using? Is it all fully
up to date and have you done complete scans of your computer recently?

Get a "second opinion" regarding possible virus/spyware infestations
by doing a free online scan at one of the following sites:
Bit Defender http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html
Trend Micro http://housecall.trendmicro.com
Panda ActiveScan http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan
WindowSecurity.com TrojanScan http://windowssecurity.com/trojanscan
Webroot http://www.webroot.com/

Good luck
