XP Home - Shut down gives the restart function

Hi,

XP Home SP2. Over the last week or so, whenever I shut down XP it closes
down and then does an immediate restart. Sometimes it takes me 3 attempts to
shut it down.

Any ideas?

Bob I

Could be crashing on shutdown and doing an AutoReboot. Winkey+Pause
key(for system) Advanced tab, Startup and Recovery and UNcheck
Automatically Restart.
