XP Home Repair asks for ADMIN password

Hi all:

I am trying to repair my XP Home - OEM version. It asks
me for an admin password when I hit "R" for repair and
select "1" for c:/windows.

However, when I enter the password, it says it's invalid.
My OEM asked me to contact Microsoft for a patch to fix
it.

Do any of you know where I can find it? I really don't
want to do a complete install.

Also, are you attempting a Repair Installation?
If so, you are pressing "R" at the wrong time:
Repair Installation:

Windows Updates will need to be reinstalled.
Data should be safe, back-up important data just in case.
Install Service Pack first and by itself.
Then install ALL Critical Updates no more than 4 at a time,

Disconnect the network/modem cable before starting repair and do NOT
reconnect the cable until repair is completed and firewall is
installed/enabled.
