I have a client that is running XP Home on a Notebook (I
know they should upgrade to Professional) & just recently
they started getting "Incorrect Function" when trying to
map a drive to their server (Small Business Server
2000). I am told it was working fine before, they did
install SP2 on the XP Home PC. Just thought maybe
someone else has seen this before!

Thanks for any help on this....

I have exactly the same thing between an XP pro and home machines on a
workgroup. I can see either machine from my laptop (XP PRO SP2) but they
can't see each other. They are both SP2 which I've turned off.

I've done all the renaming of the wgroup etc thing too but to no avail.
Might try and remove SP2.

Thanks Carey but I've found out that it was McAfee firewall blocking file and
printer sharing. Even whe it was 'turned off' it still prevented access and
the easiest solution was to uninstall it.

Yeah, that's generally the first step in diagnosing any network problem. The
firewall locks your network down and quite often simply disabling the
firewall is not enough to 'unlock' the PCs network settings.

Thanks for following up!
