XP Home Floppy Drive Code 10 Error

Hello, working PII 400mhz PC, upgraded to XP home,
everything works but the Floppy Drive. The Floppy Drive
controller in device manager has a yellow exclamation and
a Code 10 Failure. I've tried everything I've been able
to find online... trying different hardware, cables, etc.
Updated the BIOS to the latest version. Made sure there
were no viruses. Removed and allowed XP to pickup again.
Edited registry to remove all instances of device, all
with the same results. If I boot up to a floppy, she
works fine. If I boot into windows xp, even in safe mode,
same error. Please help!!!

Hi;
Editing the registry was a bit too much.
Obvious that if no references are left==> No "A:".
That is for XP==> No "A:".
Bios sees it.

Could it be that motherboard's driver (CD anyone?) were needed to correct
the yellow(!)s and finish the install?

Try >removing< ALL of the controler and at next boot (if lucky) XP will give
it a try!
