XP Home "Flash" boot....

Frank

XP Home SP2

When I boot up there is just a quick flash of the Windows logo and the
processor immediately goes back and re-boots.... repeats forever.
I did an F8 and booted from a floppy and/or a CD with no problems.
Ran Norton against the hard drive and had no problems.

Did a Recovery for Windows with no error messages and still the same thing.
Suggestions?

Also have done complete virus scans.
Used the Recovery Console and rebuilt the Boot and MBR.
Still just a flash of the Windows logo screen and then re-booting

If you mean a recovery with an OEM CD that formatted and installed XP,
and you are still having the reboot issue I would suspect faulty
hardware, do some testing.

1. RAM http://www.memtest86.org
2. HDD diagnostics from the manufacturer
3. Power supply; if possible check the outputs or try another known
good one
4. Check that all fans and heat sinks are dust/ lint free
If the above is not the case see here
