XP home - desktop icons dont work

Hi all

My problem is that nearly all of the icons on my desktop have changed from
their original look to an Itunes icon and they dont work anymore, if fact
nothing runs from the desktop icons OR from the 'start' menu either!

I've tried system restor in safe mode but has no effect, tried running
repair but it kept saying it needed to know what application created the dll
files..arghhhhh hellllllp

any ideas???

Try to find in the web some REG files that restore the file opening.
There also tune up utilities 2006 that restore it.
But you must ask yourself, how that happens ?
