XP Home connecting to shares on 2k Pro

When I move in the next month, I will be an old computer running 2000
Professional as a mini file server for my home network of 2-3 XP Home and
Professional machines.

To protect certain documents and such, I want to set file sharing
permissions so that only certain users can access certain things on the mini
file server. Can I disable simple file sharing on the 2000 machine and still
have the users of the XP Home machines connect their shares?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Windows 2000 does not support simple file sharing. On the Win2k machine
create user accounts which exactly match the user names and passwords used
to log onto the XP machines. Assign the user accounts the desired Share
and/or NTFS (Security) permissions on shared folders.
