XP Home - Can't login User List is empty

Any ideas on this one? I've got a xp home laptop that boots up without any
users in the list. I can't login! When I boot up in safe mode, I get the
same thing! Not even an administrator account. I performed a windows repair
and even created a new user with the wizard that comes up when you install
windows. The list is still empty. Any ideas here? I can't login to the
recovery console because it rejects my blank admin password. I know there
isnt a password. It makes me think my NTsam file is corrupt.

hey Jonathan.
try this and let me know if it works for you.
when your welcome screen appears
press Ctl- Alt - Delete two times
when the log on prompt appears enter: Administrator
in the log in name and leave the password blank. press enter and you should
be able to log on as administrator. Once in there go to users and create
users as desired.
I hope that helps.

Best regards:
Rambo

ps. let me know if that worked.
