Have any problems with reduced performance been noted with the download of xp
service pack 3? Since recently having it downloaded, office programs are
much slower to respond.

None that I have seen and been able to verify as being caused by Windows XP
SP3 itself.

I have seen machines that were slowed after the installation of SP3 because
it exasperated an existing issue and once the machine was cleaned up/new
hardware drivers installed/etc - everything was running as well if not
better than before.
