xp help newbie

help needed with xp cannot access applications,suspect
missing file,keep getting message "cannot find ----
..exe",cannot reinstall windows,cannot run system
restore ,cannot run add or delete programmes,etc help
needed,thanks in advance

Try reboot while tapping the F8 key and then select last good known

configuration. If that does not work try this. If you have the master
windows cd try clicking on run and type sfc /scannow. Good luck
