XP Hangs when User 2 logs in

M

Matt Ingy

Fresh Install of XP SP2. When I log in as User 1 everything is fine.
If I try to login as User 2 the system hangs. I see the desktop
wallpaper but don't get anything else. Ctrl+Alt+Delete doesn't work.

I've tried running Adaware, Spybot, etc, deleted the account then
created it again but still no joy. If you're aware of this problem let
me know as I don't know how to fix it.

Is there a way of creating a log file so I can see what processes are
being run when I log in as this user?
Many thanks

Hi Matt,

Sounds like the profile is corrupted. Why? I don't know. The best thing to
do, and the quickest way of resolving it, is to logon as administrator, then
create a new user account. Copy the old user info to it using the procedure
described here:

How to Copy User Data to a New User Profile
