XP hangs on start up

Hi. Since upgrading the processor on my Dell dimension 8200, which
overheated, and replacing it with the original CPU, windows now hangs on
booting up at the XP logo screen. Any suggestions on how I might solve this?

Otherwise, I would speculate that the cpu was not the only part damaged.

Look for bulging or leaking motherboard caps, especially near the CPU
