XP frezzes for 1 minute at welcome screen

Hi
Can anyone tell me why Windows XP frezzes for about 1 minute at the
welcome screen (just before loading the desktop)?

I've heard that it checks for network connections, but I can't seem
too remove the freeze!
Can anyone help me?

Hi,
Check your system for Spyware, Trojans and Malware. I was having the same
problem and after cleaning my laptop up for those things it booted normally
in the correct amount of time. I start my Laptop and desk top at the same
time to check for those things. Since they have approximatly the same speed
CPU they do take the same time to boot up.

Thanks. I'm running AVG Anti-virus, AVG Anti-Spyware and the Windows
Firewall. All of the programs find everything clean.

Try SPY Bot, I think it was the program that caught alot of spy cookies, it
