Why does my firewall turn itself off and send me a
notification when I reboot? I keep turning it back on
when i start-up, but when i reboot or log off and log on,
it's turned off.

Please help if possible.

I assume that you have installed XP SP2 on your PC.
You can verify your firewall settings here:

a) Click Start Button on your task bar
b) Click on Control Panel
c) Double Click on "Security Center"
d) Click on "Windows Firewall"
e) on General tab you have settings for setting your windows firewall ON

by the way ,you should use a real firewall to be safe and
not the xp one.

I'm having the same problem. I have the firewall turned on. When I turn on my
computer the next day it says the firewall is NOT turned on. I go to the
firewall
settings and turn it on. The next day...the same thing happens. Did you
find out
why this is happening yet? It's driving me crazy.

I have a built-in firewall in my router and am wondering if I can just turn
off
the WinXP firewall (yes, I have Service Pack 2 installed).

Thanks
