Why does the Windows\System32 file folder open on every
restart after WindowsXP recovers from an error? How do I
stop this?

I am having the exact same problem. Will someone please
tell me what is going on?

Windows XP Home will not operate on my computer. It says
that I have a missing or corrupt file
(Windows/system32/hal.dll) I am following the
instructions off of the HP website (I have a HP computer)
and it says that I should press F8. I do that and it
asks for which operating system should start and of
course it's XP because that is what on my computer but
the system can't work if there is a missing or corrupt
system file.
Help Me Please
