A friend of mine had been able to run a few old DOS programs on his newer
computer (only a few months old), but now everytime he clicks on the
shortcut, or directly on the exe file in the system folder, it comes up and
says that it cannot find the file and will not run the program. I cleaned
out his computer and got rid of several viruses, and several adware/spyware
programs as well as pop up programs that had infested his PC. Any idea as
to what I need to do to get these programs back up and running? Do I just
need to insert his XP disk and try a repair of the install or do I need to
clean the system and to a complete clean installation of the entire
operating system? Thanks for any help that you can give.
