My shortcuts and icons for all Office XP products are
displayed as the generic icon. Up until a week ago they
were fine. All my other icons are fine.

I have not installed any new software or hardware.

Searched through the MS online help but couldn't see an
answer to my specific problem.

All ideas greatfully received.

Thanks,

Bob

Try installing Tweakui for XP and then use the repair icon function.

Try reading the description of that feature before suggesting it.

I had this problem at some point myself. I forget how exactly I fixed
it, but you may want to look at the file associations, because if I
remember well, the Office shortcuts aren't genuine shortcuts per say.

You'll probably have to do registry editing...
