XP Crashed and reboots

I have a PC that I am trying to recover for a friend. It crashed when Nortons
GoBack program was installed. I have been able to get GoBack removed but now
it boots just past the XP logo, Blue screens for a second then reboots. It
repeats this over and over. I have tried to boot with a XP CD/Bootable Image
Cds, etc but when Install loads it says there are no hard drives installed.
The HDD is a 200GB monster that is fine according to Western Digital tests.
Plus the fact that it boots off the HDD for a few seconds, tells me that at
least some code is getting loaded. I cannot gain control of the system long
enough to see what is broke.

I know there are issues with > 137GB and service packs. I believe it was
configured at < 125 GB. The owner has no idea. Can anybody offer any insight
to getting this recovered. everything I have found assumes that setup finds
HDD. I suspect I need a driver for this disk, but I cannot get it stopped to
make any changes..

Help..... :)
