How can I get rid of the "countdown" when I first start xp? This is the
countdown from 20 seconds or hit enter one.

Thanks,
Steve

either edit boot.ini, or right click on "my computer", hit "properties", go
to the "Advanced" tab, click on "Settings" in "Startup and Recovery", then
theres a "Time to display list of operating systems:" - uncheck the
checkbox, or change the seconds to display it.

If I may add to that, instead of getting rid of that screen
entirely, I recommend making the number of seconds very low--2 or
3. It wastes very little time, yet it makes it considerably
easier to make another choice if you occasionally need to.
