XP computer fails to boot up- video driver issue?

Wallace

My Dell Dimension 9150 computer gets half way through booting up and then
dies- the hard disc stops spinning and the monitor goes to power down mode.

If I disable the GEFORCE video driver it boots up O.K. XP tells me that a
Stop error has occurred.

I've tried the Dell Driver reset tool and this hasn't helped. I've also
uninstalled and reinstalled the driver for the graphics card and tried to
update it (it has the latest version) and this makes no difference. It boots
up fine in Safe mode but won't boot up if you go to msconfig and deselect
all the normal startup items.

I've even inserted a new graphics card and driver and this made no
difference!

Any idea of what's going on?
